Know your Needs and Life Purpose

Maslow's hierarchy is most often displayed as a pyramid. The lowest levels of the pyramid are made up of the most basic needs, while the most complex needs are at the top of the pyramid. Maslow believed that these needs are similar to instincts and play a major role in motivating behavior.

Physiological, security, social, and esteem needs are deficiency needs, which arise due to deprivation. Satisfying these lower-level needs is important in order to avoid unpleasant feelings or consequences. Maslow termed the highest level of the pyramid as growth needs. These needs don't stem from a lack of something, but rather from a desire to grow as a person.

While the theory is generally portrayed as a fairly rigid hierarchy, Maslow noted that the order in which these needs are fulfilled does not always follow this standard progression. For example, he noted that for some individuals, the need for self-esteem is more important than the need for love. For others, the need for creative fulfillment may supersede even the most basic needs.

Take charge of your life

“Response-ability” is your ability or power to use your 4 fundamental powers as a human being (power of thoughts, emotions, words and actions). These 4 comprise your powers to take effective action in the world and influence the world around you. Born without these powers, these abilities slowly emerge into consciousness and become innate responses that are “yours” if you consciously own them. Otherwise, while they are still your powers, you will not recognize them as such nor use them, and in fact, will mis-use them as you think, believe, feel, speak and act as a victim. The ability to choose and use your powers (“will” or “choice”) is a conscious decision. You move to a decision point when you step back and notice yourself thinking and creating meanings at all levels and then emoting from those thoughts and then speaking and acting to make them manifest in the world.

Boost your Self-Esteem and Self Confidence

Do you ever judge yourself as a human being? Do you ever put yourself down? Contempt yourself? Insult yourself? Do you have low self-esteem?

Do you separate your feelings about you as a human “being” from your feelings as a human “doing”?

Our first sense of self is developed from the reflections we see of ourselves in the eyes and responses of others. From the ones who take care of us, nurture us, to the ones who teach and instruct us, to our peers and playmates, we first build up a definition and sense of self and the meanings we have from what others say to us and how they treat us. “You’re a sweet child”. “You’ll never be anything worthy.” “You are very bright.” “What’s wrong with you?”

Have a healthy relationship with Emotions

When we bring negative emotional energy against ourselves, they put us at odds with ourselves. We thereby attack ourselves. It turns our psychological energies against ourselves in an un-useful way.

What negative emotional state of thought-or-emotion do you not like, can’t stand? What negative states do you feel as “taboo? How is this a problem?

What emotional states do you not allow? Fear? Dread? Will not tolerate?

Live with Intention

What do you need to do, because it’s important to your long-term success, yet you don’t feel much motivation, energy, or passion about?

What do you need to do that’s important but you find it hard to maintain focus?

What’s important but when you start it, you get distracted continuously?
